About the Series
Shortly after the start of APHI in 2016, a series of Academic Thursdays were launched with the purpose of engaging individuals involved in public health academia and practice for sharing of ideas, best practices, and current research in the field. These changed into the Lunch & Learn series, which did the same thing. With the advent of the pandemic, with in-person events no longer possible, APHI continued to spread the word by pivoting to an online interactive webinar format and own YouTube channel, increasing participation and dissemination of ideas and information. With co-leadership provided by UNC Charlotte (Michael Thompson) and Mecklenburg County Public Health Office of Innovation and Strategy (Kerry Burch), the series has continued to grow as it launches its second season in 2022.
